Lorraine Lamond – Stained Glass commission – Christ the King Church, Glasgow. 2011.

This latest commission consists of three sets of five panels per window, and has the theme found in Matthews 25 – The Last Judgement:

When I was naked you clothed me, when I was thirsty you gave me drink, and when I was hungry you fed me …whoever does this to the least of my brethren does this to me.

Christ the King Church, Kings Park, Glasgow commissioned these windows for their fiftieth anniversary.

Lorraine Lamond:

‘That the church is commissioning new works of art today is a fantastically exciting prospect. They are considering in the long term, the legacy for future generations for their wellbeing and enrichment.

It was a privilege to design and work on these windows for Glasgow and a pleasure to work with the folk at Christ the King. These works are meant not only to enhance the building, but also for the purpose of meditation and contemplation on the themes of Charity and Love that run through them. I felt inspired while making them and hope others will find contemplation in these works.’
