Stained Glass

The Beatitudes Rose Window: St Alphonsus Catholic Church, Calton, Glasgow

‘The rose window comprises 8 large panels each one representing one of the beatitudes, four smaller panels representing the four virtues and in the centre four panels representing faith, hope, peace and charity.

I wanted to stress in the beatitudes windows the integration in our lives of the strength of the spirit, blue in the windows and the vunerability of our humanity, red also encompassing the dignity and divinity of both as taught in the sermon on the mount’.
